Ride Out This Crap Year With Free Food From Wendy's

With only about two weeks left in 2021, it’s tempting to think ahead to what the new year may have in store for us—from fresh strains of COVID-19, to devastating natural disasters, to a super-broken political system. But for now, let’s live in the moment, and try to get through the holidays—with some free food from Wendy’s.

If you get hungry during last-minute shopping trips, or need to take a quick spin through a drive-thru on the way home from a gathering with questionable mayonnaise-based foods that had been sitting out a wee bit too long, Wendy’s is here with various deals, including free food and free in-app delivery from now through the end of the year. Here’s what’s up for grabs.

Free Wendy’s burgers, nuggets, and more

Each week for the rest of the year, one Wendy’s menu item is available for free, with the purchase of something else:

Dec. 13 – 19: Buy one, get one Dave’s SingleDec 20 – 26: Free small chili with purchaseDec 27 – Jan 2: Free six-piece nuggets with purchase

Like most of the deals, these are only available when you place a mobile order through the restaurant chain’s app, or scan the mobile offer (accessible through the app) in the dining room or the drive-thru. The good news is that you are able to use these offers for delivery orders, but they have to be placed (you guessed it) through the Wendy’s app, and not third-party delivery services.

Free fries

Similarly, there are weekly offers involving getting a free order of fries (your choice of size) with any purchase. It’s the same deal as the one above: You can apply each weekly offer once, and you have to order through the Wendy’s app. Here’s the schedule for that one:

Dec. 13 – 19: Free any size fry with purchaseDec. 20 – 26: Free Baconator Fries with purchaseDec. 27 – Jan. 2: Free Baconator Fries with purchase

Fries with a guarantee

Speaking of fries, the Ohio-based chain has a new guarantee: If your fries aren’t hot and crispy when you receive them, you have the option of bringing them back to Wendy’s, and they will be replaced, no questions asked.

G/O Media may get a commission

According to a release from the company, “no matter how customers order, they’ll be eligible for a replacement”—so presumably, they’re betting on the fact that anyone who had their food delivered won’t bother taking the time or effort to march into a Wendy’s for their replacement fries.
